Stanley Orlin Mueske

MASON CITY, IOWA - Stanley Orlin Mueske, 82, died on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at Manly Nursing and Rehab.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 3, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, with Pastor Tom Healey officiating. Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, with full military honors conducted by the Mason City Veteran's Memorial Association.

Visitation with the body present will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E. Mason City.

Stanley Orlin Mueske was born May 25, 1926, in Manly, the son of Orlin A. and Bernice (Bleim) Mueske. He attended school in Manly. Stanley worked for the Rock Island Railroad until he was drafted into the Army, later being honorably discharged.

After returning from the military he continued to work for the railroad.

Stanley was united in marriage to Erla Mae Francis on May 25, 1951; together they raised four children. Stanley retired from the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.

Stanley enjoyed fishing, duck hunting and tinkering in his garage. He really enjoyed watching wildlife especially the deer and birds from his home.

Stanley is survived by his children, Toni Mueske of Mason City, Vicki (Ron) Cox of Manga, Utah, Sandi (Larry) Arhart of Mason City; daughter-in-law, Julie Mohler of Kensett; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; his brother, Cliff (Donna) Mueske of Prescott, Wis., brother-in-law, George (Shirley) Francis of Havelock; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Erla Mae; son, George "Rusty" Mohler; brother and sister-in-law, Russell (Jan) Francis.
