After completing his schooling, he and his brother Ansley owned and operated a dairy farm, and also raised crops in the Northwood and Joice areas. Kenneth loved taking care of his dairy farm and was a member of the Brown Swiss Cattle Association.

Kenneth was also a member of First Lutheran Church in Northwood, and Yester Years Threshing Club in Kiester, Minn.
