HANLONTOWN, IOWA — Frank C. Seidel, 84, of Hanlontown, died Thursday (March 13, 2003) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. today at Grace Lutheran Church in Hanlontown with Pastor Paul Nelson officiating. Burial will be at Brush Point Cemetery in Hanlontown. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Mittelstadt Funeral Home in Lake Mills and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church today.

Frank Carroll Seidel was born on July 1, 1918, in Cerro Gordo County, Iowa, the son of Charles and Maud (Wood) Seidel. He graduated from high school in Hanlontown.

On June 4, 1940, he was united in marriage to Mavis Domholdt. They lived and farmed near Hanlontown for 61 years. They enjoyed farming and ballroom and square dancing.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Mavis, of Hanlontown; four children, Arlyn and his wife, Mary Ann Seidel, of Newkirk, Okla., Carolyn and her husband, Leonard Berghoeffer, of Hampton, Dennis and his wife, Karn Seidel, of Sturgis, S.D., and Diane and her husband, Lee Chapa, of Eden Prairie, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Florence Benjegerdes of Mason City; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles, Clarence, Loch, Arthur and Marcus; sisters, Mary and Melissa; and son-in-law, Norman Weiland.
