Lorraine M. Julseth, 84, of 4736 Wheelerwood Drive in Northwood, died Thursday (Aug. 3, 2006) at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006, at Elk Creek Lutheran Church in rural Kensett with the Rev. Thomas Martin officiating. Interment will be in the Elk Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Conner Colonial Chapel, 1008 First Ave. S., Northwood, and then one hour before the service on Saturday at the church. The family suggests memorials to Lorraine M. Julseth Memorial Fund.

Lorraine was born Oct. 9, 1921, in Grafton, the daughter of Emil and Alvina (Wilke) Hackbart. She graduated from Grafton High School in 1940 and then Waldorf College in Forest City.

She worked as a secretary at Deckers in Mason City and then at an Air Force base in Utah. She moved back to Grafton and worked for Standard Oil in Mason City until it closed.

She married Truman Julseth on Sept. 11, 1955, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton. They have lived on the same farm ever since they have been married.

She was an avid supporter of her nieces and nephews and enjoyed attending their sporting events. She was very involved in church activities, enjoyed bowling and working with 4-H. She was a member of Elk Creek Lutheran Church.

Lorraine will be sadly missed by her husband, Truman Julseth, of Northwood; brother, Roger Hackbart and his wife, Lucille, of Golden Valley, Minn.; brother-in-law, Connie Julseth, of Northwood; sister-in-law, Thelma Gaarder, of Sibley; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister, and her brother, Robert Hackbart and his wife, Loretta.
