Herman Stehn was born in Hanover, Germany, July 30, 1841, where he grew to manhood. He came to America in 1868, and settled in Columbia Co., Wis., where he lived two years and then resided in Mitchell county for three yearn. He was married in 1873 to Mary Brut, and the same year came to Barton township, Worth county, and settled on a farm. By this union there are five children living—Henry, Augusta, Christina, Rudolph and Otto. Mrs. Stehn died Jan. 1, 1882 The family are members of the German Lutheran Church. In politics Mr. Stehn is a republican. He was school director for two years and road supervisor one year.
