E. D. Zum was born April 4, 1843, in Michigan. He was educated in his native state, living there until 1879, when he went to Calhoun county, and from there to Freeborn Co., Minn., where he lived over two years, then came to Kensett township, Worth county, where he has lived since that time. He was married to Amelia Vandybogt, born in Michigan in January, 1845. They have had three children—Myron L., Mary A. and Eleanor D. Mr. Zum is a republican.
