A. R. Freeman was born May 6, 1835, in New York State. When fifteen years of age he went to Wisconsin, where he lived five years, after which he returned to New York, where he lived three years. He then came to Illinois, residing in Cook county one year, after which he went again to Wisconsin. In 1864 he came to Iowa, settling in Black Hawk county, and coming to Worth county in 1878, settling in Kensett township, where he has eighty acres of good land on section 14. He was married in 1860 to Lydia Klinefelter, born in Wisconsin in July, 1842. They have five children—Jessie, Clarence, Gertrude, Henry and Gail. Mr. Freeman and family belong to the M. E. Church. In politics he is a republican.
