John Trebilcock was the first settler in Danville township. He located on section 29 in 1866. He was born in England, July 24, 1803. He married and emigrated to America, settling in New Jersey, where he lived ten years. He then returned to England and remained a year. He then emigrated to Toronto, Canada. Here his wife died, leaving six children. He was again married to Mary A. Pangburn, a native of Canada. In 1849 they moved to Kenosha Co., Wis., remaining sixteen years; then they moved to Worth county. The first year, they lived a Glenmary, then moved to their present home, where he died Feb. 6, 1869. By his last marriage he had ten children. He was a member of the Primitive Methodist Church. In politics he had been a Whig; afterwards a republican and then a democrat.
