Andrew K. Felland, who carries on general farming on section18, Fertile township, Worth County, was born on the 10th of January, 1883, upon the farm which is still his home, his parents being Knute and Margaret (Haverstadt) Felland. His boyhood days were spent upon the home farm and his education was acquired in the public schools. When his textbooks were put aside he concentrated his efforts and attention upon farm work and he has since remained upon the old homestead, having here eighty acres of land which he is carefully, systematically and profitably cultivating. In his youthful days he was instructed by his father in the best methods of tilling the soil and caring for the crops and his experience as the years went by proved of great value to him. In early manhood he assumed the duties of responsibilities of the farm and later he become owner of the property, He has added to it many modern and attractive improvements and now has a very valuable property, constituting one the pleasing features of the landscape.
In 1908, Mr. Felland was united in marriage to Miss Tillie Rusley, a daughter of Ole and Johanna Rusley, She was born in Mountain Valley township, Winnebago county, Iowa, while her parents were natives of Norway, Coming the new world, they settled in Winnebago county during an early period of its development and both spent their remaining days there. To Mr. and Mrs. Felland have been born three children, Mabel, Clarence and Ernest, who are yet under the parental roof.
Mr. and Mrs. Felland hold membership in the Norwegian Lutheran church and contribute generously to its support. Mr. Felland votes with the republican party, of which he has been a staunch advocate since age conferred upon him the right of franchise. His has been an active and well spent life. He has concentrated his efforts and attention upon farm work and he also does much for the good of the community. He of a generous nature and is ever ready and willing to extend a helping hand to those who need assistance or to any plan or movement for the general good. In fact he is an earnest champion of all those activities and interests which are a matter of civic virtue and civic pride.

Additonal information provided by Gordon Felland:
Andrew lived his entire life on the same farm, 5 miles SW of Joice in Fertile township (SW 1/4 of section 18). He farmed with his father until his father died in 1930. Then he took over the farm, but he almost lost it during the depression. For a while he was Justice of Peace in Fertile township. When he got older, his son Ernest helped with the farming. He was healthy and active up to the time of his death in 1961. His wife died in 1952.
