George A. McEnelly

George A. McEnelly., oldest son of John and Elvira B. McEnelly, was born April 6, 1845. He received a common school education. He came with his parents to Worth county. He learned the spinner and weavers trade, and during the war worked on a steamboat on the Mississippi river about one year. He was married Dec. 25, 1872, to Jane Booth, born in Grant Co., Wis., Nov. 14, 1850. They have four children - John A., Clara E., Elizabeth J. and Charles G. Mr. McEnelly is a republican and is director of the school board, His farm contains 112 acres. Source: History of Mitchell and Worth Counties, Iowa, 1884, p.754
