Erick Nelson Jorde is a well known farmer of Brookfield township. He was born in Norway, July 28, 1825. He was married there in 1848 to Betsy Amonsom, born Sept, 29, 1824. After his marriage he engaged in farming until the summer of 1861, when he emigrated to Worth Co., Iowa. He rented farm land for two years, and then purchased the farm on which he now lives. Four childtes have been born to him, three living - Nels, born Aug. 17, 1850; Amos, born Dec. 13, 1854, and Eli, born May 29, 1859. Rosa was born Sept. 8, 1863, and died June 26, 1874.
