Tellef T. Ranse was born in Norway in 1853. In 1862 he emigrated with his parents to Dane Co., Wis., where they lived three years, and then went to Winnebago Co., Iowa, where the father is still living; the mother died there in 1870. they had a family of eight children, of which the subject of this sketch is the seventh He was married in 1875 to Tonguberg Thorrofson, born in Norway in 1853. three of the children born to them are living – Tilda O., Anda T. and Julia F. In the fall of 1879 Mr. Ramse came to Worth county and settled on section 7 in Fertile township, where he has a farm of sixty acres. He votes the republican ticket, and has held the office of school director. The Lutheran denomination enroll this family in its membership record.
