Ronald W. Boock, age 76, of Moville passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the UnityPoint Health - St. Luke's Hospital of Sioux City.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., at the United Methodist Church of Moville with the Rev. Eric Z. Sayonkon officiating. Burial will be at the Arlington Cemetery of Moville. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Moville. The Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Moville is in charge of the arrangements.
Ronald W. Boock was born August 3, 1948, in Sioux City, to Wayne and Dorothy (Babcock) Boock. He graduated from Galva High School in 1966. Ron served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970 and was stationed in Japan during part of that time. He earned the Good Conduct medal and the National Defense Service medal for his service.
Ron was united in marriage to Bonnie Schubert in March of 1968. To this union two daughters were born, René and Rochelle. The couple later divorced. He was married to Jan Saxty on June 16, 2000. Ron lived in Moville, for the past 30 years.
Ron farmed for 20 years and worked as a seed corn salesman. He was also a car salesman for Condon Auto for 26 years, retiring in 2022.
He enjoyed collecting John Deere tractors, collecting coins, playing cards, playing cribbage and gardening. Ron loved socializing and joking around with others. He treasured time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ron was loved greatly and will be very missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Boock of Moville; daughters, René (Jaret) Byers of Lake Park, IA, and Rochelle Kenworthy of Sergeant Bluff, IA; two step-children, Ricky (Shannon) Stone of Sioux City, and Daquori (Chris) Kock of Anthon, IA; grandchildren, Riley Kafton of Sioux Falls, SD, Tyler (Zoe) Byers of Correctionville, IA, Candis Stone of Sioux City, Skye Kock of Sioux City, Gabe Kock of Anthon, and seven great-grandchildren.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Dorothy Boock; brother, Brian Boock; son-in-law, Steve Kenworthy; parents-in-law, Ann and Bob Grover; and sister-in-law, Robin Grover.
