18 December 2024Linda M. Barngrover, 79, of Smithland, Iowa passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Siouxland Pace, Sioux City, Iowa.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 7:00 P.M. Friday, December 27, 2024 at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Anthony Bainbridge, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Linda’s obituary. A visitation will be 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Friday, December 27, 2024 at the chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.
Linda Marie was born October 23, 1945 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Rubel and Lavina (Owens) Iverson. Linda graduated from Westwood High School with the class of 1963. She continued her education at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City and graduated with a Registered Nursing degree.
Linda Iverson and David Barngrover, Sr. were united into marriage June of 1963. To this union, three children were born, David, Jr., Elizabeth, and Martin. The couple later divorced.
Linda worked for Burgess Health Center in Onawa for twenty-eight years until her retirement in October of 2013. She was an EMT on the Smithland Fire and Rescue for several years.
Linda loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, traveling, and reading.
Survivors include her children, David (Kelli) Barngrover, Jr. of Sioux City, Iowa, Elizabeth (Mike Lewis) Peterson of Smithland, Iowa, and Martin (Mary) Barngrover of Sioux City, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Chauncey (Mihaela Petric) Monk, Zachary (Jami) Barngrover, Megan (Manuel) Aguiar, Lacy (Claire) Smizer, Andrew Peterson, Heather (Jeff) Adam, Brittni (Rafael) Herrera, Tanner (Hannah) Barngrover, and Meghan Porath; ten great-grandchildren, Calen, Gavin, Keegen, Emalynne, Wyatt, Ryan, Michael, Colton, Apollo, and Augustus; four brothers, Darryl (Dixie) Iverson of Sloan, Iowa, David (Deb) Iverson of Oklahoma, Larry Iverson of Sturgis, South Dakota, and Paul (Susan) Iverson of Salix, Iowa; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rubel and Lavina (Owens) Iverson, brother, Pete Iverson, and like a sister, Barb Sterba.
