April 1, 1982 - July 7, 2024

Gregory F. Leaver, 42, died Sunday, July 7, 2024, at a local hospital in Sioux City, Iowa.

A visitation will be held Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel (1801 Morningside Ave.) with a prayer service at 7:00pm. Funeral service will be held Friday, July 12, 2024, at 11:00 am at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel. His final resting place will be Memorial Park Cemetery.

Greg was born on April 1, 1982, to Danny and Susan (Kilpatrick) Leaver in Sioux City, Iowa. He attended Riverside Elementary School and East Middle School. He was a lifelong resident of Siouxland and made Courage Homes his residence in 2002. Greg was a social butterfly who loved racing, music, and making people laugh through teasing, flirting and socializing.

Greg is survived by his stepfather, Randall Sanderson of Sergeant Bluff; his sisters, Christina "Christy" (Curt) Schnee of Sergeant Bluff, and Kimberly (Torrey) Leaver of Sioux City; grandparent, Floyd Leaver; niece, Erika Schnee; nephew, Ethan Schnee; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends at Courage Homes.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Susan Sanderson; father, Danny Leaver; paternal grandmother, LaVonne Leaver; and his maternal grandparents, Maynard and Martha Kilpatrick.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and doctors at UnityPoint St. Luke's ICU.
