Delores Jean Davis

October 12, 1932 - June 19, 2024

Delores Jean Davis, age 91 of Sioux City Iowa passed away at Heritage Northern Hills on June 19, 2024.

Delores was born on October 12, 1932 to parents Opal and Truman Himes. Truman said she came into this world running as her feet came out first.

Delores was blessed with the challenge of growing up in a home with four brothers Ed, Don, Bill and Frank, all deceased.

Delores met Marvin, the love of her life while working at the corner store in Sioux City. Marvin attempted to get a date by sending his friend up to ask for him. Of course, she would have nothing of it until he came and asked for himself. They were married on February 24, 1950 and raised three children.

Delores involved her family in church and faith. Both Delores and Marvin contributed much to every church they attended.

In 1959 Marvin and Delores moved and settled their family in southern California. After raising their children, they returned to their roots living out their lives in Sioux City, Iowa.

Delores is survived by her three children Karma Holmes of Sioux City, Iowa; Kathy Martin of Parkdale, Oregon; Gerald Davis of Graham, Washington; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

A graveside gathering with immediate family will be held on July 2, 2024. Delores will be greatly missed by all.
