Kathleen Ann Thiltgen Moser was born 7/26/47, Sioux City, IA and died 5/26/24, Snowmass, CO.
Survived by her Husband James Moser (Snowmass, CO); son Aaron, Daughter-in-law Dialaht and their three children, Dutch, Ford, and Gianna (Omaha, NE); Brother John Thiltgen (Cumming, GA); Sister Mary Therese Thiltgen Tate (Van Wert, OH).
Kathleen "Kat" Thiltgen, the daughter of Wilbert P. Thiltgen and Mary Kyte Thiltgen, was a member of Sioux City's Blessed Sacrament parish. She attended Blessed Sacrament Elementary School and graduated from Bishop Heelen High School in 1964. Known for her beauty, intelligence, and outgoing personality, Kat was honored as Sioux City's first Rivercade Queen, serving in 1964-1965.
Kat pursued higher education at Briar Cliff University before transferring to Iowa State University, where she earned her degree in Fashion Merchandising in 1968. Her career began as a buyer and store manager for Dayton's Department Store in Minneapolis. Kat later founded Nouvelle Eve, Omaha's premier women's clothing boutique, which flourished for over four decades.
Kat met her husband, Jim, at Iowa State University, and their connection was immediate. She often said it was "love at first sight." They married in August 1970 in a beautiful outdoor ceremony. Known for her dedication and tireless work ethic, Kat was a loving wife, a wonderful mother and mother-in-law, and a devoted grandmother. In addition to her retail success, Kat was an accomplished photographer whose work was showcased and sold in galleries nationwide. She also owned and operated Jackson Artworks, a popular gallery in Omaha, NE. Kat was a mentor to many young women and enjoyed traveling extensively with her husband. She valued her strong friendships deeply.
In 2010, Kat sold her store, and shortly before, her husband and his brother sold their business. They began a new chapter of their lives by building their dream home in Snowmass, CO, in 2012 and moving there permanently in 2015. Kat loved the outdoors and embraced the year-round activities the Rockies offered.
In the last three years of her life, Kat bravely fought two severe cancers, drawing hope and strength from her strong spirituality.
"She was the love of my life, a wonderful mother to our son, a grandmother to our grandchildren, and my best friend for 54 years. She will be deeply missed by many."
