Gerald Myron Carlson- Died Sioux City

August 21, 1941 - June 14, 2024

Gerald Myron Carlson 82, formerly of from Fremont, Nebraska, was born in Lyons, NE on August 21, 1941, to Ronald and Esther Carlson. He passed away Friday, June 14, 2024, at Unity Point Health Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Gerald graduated from High School in Lyons and on February 20, 1971, Gerald married the love of his life Carol Carlson (Hair). After marriage they farmed for a short time near Rosalie, NE. They then moved to Shenandoah, IA where Gerald and brother-in-law Vernon Hair owned and operated a major appliance store along with heating and air conditioning installation and service. Following their nearly 10-year residence in Shenandoah, Gerald and Carol moved to Fremont, NE in 1986. Gerald then worked for Allied Appliance until his retirement in 2013.

The couple enjoyed drives through the countryside, visiting family, listening to gospel music, and eating out at various restaurants in Fremont. Recently, Gerald and Carol moved to Regency Square in South Sioux City, NE to be closer to Carol's family. Gerald was a notorious jokester and seemed to have a one - liner for everything! He will be greatly missed.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, June 21, 2024, 11:00 am, at Pelan Funeral Services in Lyons.

VISITATION: One hour prior to service

BURIAL: Lyons Cemetery
