Marjorie, “Marj”, went on to further her education at Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, IA, where she studied to be a teacher. She worked as a kindergarten teacher for one year in Ute, IA.
On August 29, 1950, Marj was united in marriage to Roger Earl Nelson at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Danbury and to this union ten children were born. The couple lived on a nearby farm until 1951, when they relocated to rural Moville, IA, where Roger worked for Noonan Cattle Company until 1954.
