Jefferson, S.D. Died Sioux City

Dianna C. Jungemann, age 74, of Jefferson, S.D. and formerly of Yankton, S.D. died on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024 at Holy Spirit Retirement Home in Sioux City.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024 at Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with Reverend Dani Jo Bierwagen officiating. Inurnment will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at Wintz & Ray Funeral Home.

Dianna was born March 12, 1949 in Yankton, to Richard Wentz and Arlene (Hartman) Toczek. She grew up in Yankton where she attended school. On Dec. 4, 1965, Dianna married Terry Lee Jungemann at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Yankton. Terry then served in the United States Navy for four years. After his honorable discharge, they moved to Athol, S.D. and began their family. They lived in Athol for 10 years and then moved to Yankton. Dianna sold mobile homes for a few years and then drove a school bus for the Yankton School District for many years. In 1987, they moved to Jefferson, and Dianna continued to be a school bus driver until she retired due to Terry’s failing health. She was his primary caregiver for almost five years at their home.

Dianna loved dancing and listening to music, especially 50’s music. She enjoyed the company of her many dachshund dogs which she had throughout the years.

Dianna was very caring and always willing to help someone in need. She will be greatly missed.

Dianna is survived by three sons: Zane Jungemann (Tricia Garvin) of Jefferson, SD, Chad Jungemann of Dallas, TX, and Shane Jungemann of Jefferson; three grandchildren: Natalie and Carson Jungemann, and Maeve Katz; and several nieces and nephews.

Dianna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Terry Jungemann on July 26, 2019; and a brother, Ronald Wentz.
