Donna Jean (Mannion) Lower

September 29,1928 - May 10, 2024

LAWTON - Donna Jean Lower, 95, passed away Friday, May 10, 2024 at Lawton Asst. Living.

A Memorial Service will take place on June 1, 2024 at Christy-Smith Funeral Home-Larkin Chapel 2320 N. Outer (belt) Dr. in Sioux City, Iowa. Family visitation at 10:00 a.m. with the service starting at 11:00 a.m. Luncheon to follow.

Donna was born in Spencer, Iowa on September 29, 1928 to John and Winifred (Harris) Mannion. She Graduated HS in 1946 before eventually meeting and uniting in marriage to Wendell S. Lower, June of 1953 in Sioux City, Iowa where they would start and raise their family of three until she retired from 28 years of working for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. Donna enjoyed her retirement in Mesa, Arizona where she enjoyed the view of the Superstitious Mountains and was active in golf, swimming and loved the flea markets where she occasionally worked for something fun to do. As she found her way back to Sioux City, she enjoyed her time with family, her friend trips to the casino, and puzzles but she especially loved the Sunnybrook Church services.

Donna is survived by her sons, Mitch (Pam) Lower of Salix Ia, Tim (Tabitha) Lower of Lawton Ia; son in-law Randy Brown of Munising Mi; grandchildren, Jessi Lower, Michaele Hardy, Dylon Lower, Liberty Lower, Abigail Brown; great grandchildren; Kara and Hayden; sisters-in-law Lois Lower and Florence Mannion both of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wendell S. Lower; daughter, Gloria Brown; grandson, Cory Lower; brothers, John and Billy Mannion; in-laws, James and John (Erma) Lower and Marian; also many others she held close to her heart.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who showed love and kindness to Donna and to those who helped us until the end; Unity Point, Sunrise Memory Care, Lawton Asst. Living and Hospice.
