Larry L. Lasher, 75, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Westwood Specialty Care Center, Sioux City, Iowa.

A graveside service will be 12:30 P.M. Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, in Adel, Iowa, with Darren C. E. Goslar, officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army and the Van Meter American Legion Post #403 of Van Meter, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Larry was born March 7, 1949, the son of Lu Verne and Rose (Arbaugh) Lasher. He attended Tri Center High School in Neola, Iowa. Larry was raised on the farm. He proudly served in the United States Army January 2, 1969, and was honorably discharged on April 13, 1972. Larry earned a national defense service medal, two overseas service bars, combat infantry badge, Vietnam service medal, Vietnam campaign medical, and army commendation medal.

He farmed with his dad and did construction for many years. Larry was a handyman that worked on many houses.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and smoking meat.

Survivors include his three children, Brian (Joey) Lasher of Harlan, Iowa, Jamie Lasher of Norwalk, Iowa, and Jennifer (Visith Xayavongsa) Lasher of Puyallup, Washington; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Lasher, Jacob Lasher, Kaden Lasher, Kelby Lasher, Layah Xayavongsa , and Mason Xayavongsa; siblings, Linda Purcell of Orlando, Florida, Jack (Laura) Lasher of Omaha, Nebraska, Penny (Dan) Peterson of Turin, Iowa, Danny (Pat) Lasher of Biloxi, Mississippi, and Denny Lasher of Onawa, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lu Verne and Rose (Arbaugh) Lasher; sisters, Kay Magnett, and Patty Waterman; brother, Dick Lasher; and sister-in-law, Traci Lasher.
