Stanley Boyle

Dakota Dunes, SD - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stanley Boyle, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Stan died peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his home on November 10, 2023.

Stan was born on June 5, 1940 in Sioux City, Iowa to Walter and Emily Boyle. The eldest of seven siblings, Stan embraced his role of "big" brother with grace and responsibility.

Stan was a devoted family man, unwavering in his love and commitment to both his immediate family and extended community. Stan's Catholic faith was supremely important to him and was instrumental in guiding Stan towards a life of duty and service to others.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dan Boyle, sister-in-law MaryAnn Boyle, and nephews Mike and John Boyle.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy, his children Angie Boyle-Heller, Susan Boyle, Leslie Breedlove (Jeff), and Scott Boyle (Jennifer), and ten grandchildren; Katie Heller, Nick Heller, Dan Heller, Matthew Breedlove, Ethan Breedlove, Bella Boyle, Gabi Boyle, Zach Boyle, Niam Boyle, and Izaiah Boyle. In addition, he is survived by five siblings and their families; Dave Boyle (Nancy), Pat Boyle, Richard Boyle, Tim Boyle (Debbie), Marilyn Galvin, and (Marcia) wife of Dan Boyle . Stan's infectious humor, contagious laugh, and funny stories (often repeated) will be missed by all!

Stan was a proud member of the 185th Air National Guard, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. His dedication to serving his country reflected Stan's core values of duty, honor, and camaraderie that he carried with him throughout his life.

Professionally, Stan enjoyed a successful career that spanned decades. After retiring as CEO from Boyle Company, Stan owned and managed New Hampton Care Center for many years. His work ethic, integrity, and innovative spirit were the cornerstones of his professional journey.

A true pillar of the Siouxland community, Stan was a proud member of the Sertoma Club and served on the Board of Directors for Briar Cliff College and Pioneer Bank. His commitment to service touched the lives of many, and his contributions to various organizations were instrumental in making a positive impact on the community.

Stan had a sharp and quick wit, keeping all on their toes even toward the end. His sense of humor and good nature endeared him to those around him. Stan brought a unique ability to bring laughter and joy to any gathering.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Stan's beloved Heelan High School (bishopheelan.org) in Sioux City, Iowa, or the special needs organization, The Golden Scoop (thegoldenscoop.org) in Overland Park, KS.

Visitation will begin 5:00pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (5010 Military Rd.) in Sioux City, Iowa on Thursday, November 16, 2023, Rosary will follow at 6:30pm and vigil at 7pm. A Catholic funeral Mass to celebrate Stan's life will be held on Friday, November 17, 10:00am at Sacred Heart Church followed by a burial at Calvary Cemetery and a luncheon. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
