Primo D. Hallowell, Vice-Chairman of the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska & Iowa, died on October 20, 2023 at the age of 52. Primo was a life-long resident on the Omaha Indian Reservation. He was buried at a private cemetery on family land following a traditional wake and funeral service.

Primo was a devoted father, avid hunter and enjoyed fishing with his sons and partner. He loved his pets, was a true Nebraska Cornhuskers and Kansas City Chiefs fan, and enjoyed watching live sporting events. He loved spending his summers playing softball with his team The Blackshirts. He was known by many as a caring, funny, and sociable person with a smile that put people at ease. He was a spiritual man and belonged to the Tia Piah Society and often stood as Head Man for many Gourd Dance ceremonies. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

Primo is survived by his Wife Michelle Fourkiller; children Bryson Smith, Jalen Hallowell, Chayse Hallowell, and Charmaine Mitchell; siblings LeAndra (Hallowell) Nephin, Robert Hallowell, Jr., and Amanda Hallowell; mother of his sons Danelle Smith; Aunt Marla Spears; Uncles Brad (Crystal) Ross and Malcolm Bertucci, Sr., multiple grandchildren, and many other relatives. Primo is preceded in death by his parents Carmen and Robert Hallowell, Grandmother Irene (Wolfe) Spears, Uncles Greg and Mark Spears, and Aunt Barbara J. Freemont.
