ANTHON, Iowa - Louis A. Weber, 85, of Anthon, died Wednesday in a Sioux City hospital of brief illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church at Anthon. The Rev. J.G. Skahill will officiate. Burial will be will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday in the Walter Funeral Home at Anthon. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the McNiff Post 389, American Legion.

Mr. Weber was born Nov. 11, 1896, at Danbury. He lived in the Danbury and Oto vicinity as a youth. He and his brother owned and operated an automobile dealership in Oto for several years.

He married Mamie Bays Feb. 14, 1922, at Oto. She died in 1931. He farmed in the Westfield area from 1922 until 1936 when he moved to a farm near Hinton.

He married Frances Bird Oct. 12, 1936, at Ellendale. They came to the Anthon vicinity in 1943 where he farmed. He retired in 1977 and moved into town.

Mr. Weber was a member of St. Joseph Church and McNiff post. He was an Army veteran of World War I.

Survivors include the widow; four sons, Paul of St. Petersburg, Fla., Glen and Gordon, both of Sioux City, and Charles Bird of Arvada, Colo.; three daughters, Mrs. Merrill (Marcia) Lidgett and Mrs. Dorothy Smith, both of Sioux City and Mrs. Laurence (Sharon) Peters of Correctionville; 27 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank of Danbury and August of Pasadena,
Calif.; and two sisters, , Mrs. Mary Koll of Pasadena and Mrs. Donald (Ann) Fitzpatrick of Danbury.
