Carroll Crash Victim's Rites Set at Danbury

Funeral services for Frances "Frank" John Leahy, 25, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury. The Rev. Edward Huffman will officiate. Burial will be in St, Mary's Cemetery under direction of the Walter Funeral Home of Mapleton.

The Rosary will recited at 8 o'clock tonight by members of the Catholic Youth Organization and at 8:30 o'clock by parishioners at the funeral home.

Mr. Leahy was killed in a four-car crash Saturday night on U.S. 30 west of Carroll, Iowa. Two other young Iowans also were killed in the accident.

Danbury Man Killed In Car Accident Saturday

A four-car crash on U. S. 30 west of Carroll took the lives of three young Iowans late Saturday.

The Highway Patrol identified the dead as Francis J. Leahy, 25, of rural Danbury; Daniel E. Dennis, 19, of Wall Lake; and Marsha Dohse, 18, of Westside.

Officers said the Leahy and Dennis autos collided at the junction of 30 and Carroll County road 68 and that a car driven by Reighard Vogel, 19, of Westside collided head-on with the Leahy auto, and that both of those cars were hit by a fourth car driven by Dennis Heuton of Arcadia.

Francis J. Leahy was born on November 2, 1943, at Danbury. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Leahy, he lived most of his life on the family farm five miles north of Danbury. He graduated from Danbury Catholic High School in 1961 and from Iowa State "University in 1968 with a degree in farm operations.

He had been employed at CalCar Farm Service Co. at Westfield, Iowa, and since December 1968, had lived in Carroll Iowa.
