2 January 1947Pioneer Resident Of Danbury Dies Friday Evening
Funeral services were held Monday morning in St Mary's church at Danbury for Mrs. Mary Kueny, 83-year-old pioneer resident of the Danbury community. Short services were conducted in the Olerich Funeral home here before the Danbury services.
Mrs. Kueny died on the home farm near Danbury about 6 o'clock Friday evening. She was taken ill about 2 o'clock that afternoon with an attack of bronchial asthma.
Rev. Father Bausch, pastor of the Danbury church, officiated. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery at Danbury. Six nephews of Mrs. Kueny served as pallbearers.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Xavier Pfleider February 11, 1864, in Lippach, Germany, she came to the United States when a young girl. She was married to Jacob Kueny in 1882 and had resided on the home farm 60 years.
She is survived by six sons, Edward of Vinton, Ia., Frank and Xaxier of Sioux City, Clarence of Danbury, Jacob of Fort Dodge and Will of Sloan; and 1 daughter, Rose, of Shelby, la. Her husband preceded her in death in 1926. Two sons, Albert and Vincent, also preceded her in death.
