DANBURY, Iowa -- Anna Kueny, 102, of Danbury died Monday, Dec. 19, 2005, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home in Sioux City.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury, with the Rev. Terry Roder officiating. Burial will be in Danbury Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a St. Mary's Rosary Society rosary at 3 p.m. and a vigil wake service at 7 p.m., at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton, Iowa.

Anna Mary Kueny, the daughter of Albert and Lena (Prokop) Price, was born May 4, 1903, in Danbury, where she continued to live all her life. She worked as a telephone operator for several years before her marriage.

She married William Frederick Kueny on March 29, 1921, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury.
After that time, she was a busy homemaker and mother of 14 children. William died Dec. 15, 1970. She was able to continue to live alone in her home in Danbury until she was 98, when she entered Holy Spirit Retirement Home in Sioux City in March 2001.

She was an active and faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she also served on the Rosary Society. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Carlsen-Frum Post 336 of Danbury as a Gold Star Mother. She enjoyed making rosaries, ceramics, crocheting and was known for her quilting.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, John and Martha Kueny of Allerton, Iowa, Leo and Josie Kueny of Orange, Calif., and Vincent and Judy Kueny of Alta, Iowa; four daughters, Marian Sand of Syracuse, Neb., Darlene and her husband, Robert Galkowski of New Port, R.I., Betty Lewis of Sioux City and Rita and her husband, Paul Elsner of Sacramento, Calif., 60 grandchildren; 100 plus great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

Along with her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents; four sons, Roy, Robert who was killed in the Korean War, Paul and Richard; three daughters, Marilyn Jordan, Pauline Wanderlich and Charlotte Heath; two sisters; and a brother.
