HOLSTEIN, Iowa -- Mrs. R.C. "Babe" Keitges 76, of Holstein died suddenly Monday in a Sioux City hospital after suffering a stroke Sunday evening.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Holstein. The Rev. E.D. Hoffmann will officiate. Burial will be at 1 p.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Danbury. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today in the Barker Funeral Home of Holstein.
Mrs. Keitges, the former Mabel Bertha Treiber, was born Jan. 22, 1911, at Danbury and graduated from Danbury High School. On Sept. 14, 1936, she married R.C. Keitges at Danbury. The couple lived in Los Angeles until 1939 when they returned to Danbury and lived there until 1948 when they moved to Holstein. They spent the winters in Arizona the last 15 years.
Mrs. Keitges was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, the Rosary Society of the church and the Holstein Country Club.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Don (Patsy) Potter of Denver; five sons, Pat of Denver, Tom of Grants Pass, Ore., Jim of Fresno, Calif., Joe of Des Moines and Bob of Phoenix, Ariz. a sister, Mrs. Bernice Warnke of Palo Alto, Calif., 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
