Bernard L. Karhoff, 47, a resident of Anthon for 18 years, died unexpectedly of a heart attack about Thursday noon while at work at the Quaker Oats Company elevator in Anthon.

Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Anthon with Rev. A. Conlon officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery under direction of Hudgel Funeral Home of Anthon.

Mr. Karhoff was born June 16, 1907, at Danbury, Iowa. He was married to Eva E. Sharkey at Danbury April 24, 1926. For the past two years he had been employed by the Quaker Oats Company.

Surviving are the widow, Eva; two daughters, Mrs. Albert Sevening of Correctionville and Mrs. Leo Maguire of Anthon; a son Robert of Anthon; a granddaughter, two sisters, Mrs. Julius Clausen and Mrs. John Uehle, both of Danbury, and a brother Thomas of Danbury.
