Francis John Gampp 1893 - 1964

Funeral services for Francis J. Gampp, 71, of Correctionville, who died at his home last Wednesday night after an illness of several months, were held Saturday morning, February 29, at St Joseph's Catholic church at Anthon. Rev. A.M. Colon officiated, and burial was in St. Joesph's cemetery at Anthon.

Pallbearers were Raphael Curtin, Leonard Cavanaugh, Ray Wilson, Albert Forch, Marvin Umbach and Bernard Meyer.

Mr. Gampp was born February 25, 1893 at Holstein. He came to Woodbury County with his parents as a small boy. The family lived on a farm east of Anthon. He lived in the Anthon area most of his life, except for the recent period when he moved to Correctionville.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Anthon, and the Modern Woodmen of America.

His main occupation was farming, but he also worked at Wolfe Lumber Co, Fullerton Lumber co, and at the Quaker Oats Co, all in Anthon. Mr. Gampp was married to Irene Treft on April 2, 1929 at Moville. She died in 1961.

Survivors are a brother Charles of Los Angeles, California, and a sister, Mrs. Walter Kowalke of Sioux City.
