Donald Robertson Grieve

Tonica, Ill., formerly Pierson, Iowa

Donald Robertson Grieve, 80, of Tonica and formerly of Pierson passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, at the La Salle County Nursing Home in Ottawa, Iowa.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Hurst Funeral Home in Tonica with Rev. Phil Jackson, Pastor of Tonica United Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until time of services. Burial will be at Kingsley Cemetery in Kingsley, Iowa, at a later date. Mr. Grieve was born in Kingsley on July 15, 1942, to Malcolm H. and Ruth (Maxwell) Grieve. Don served with the Iowa Army National Guard Reserves. He was a farmer his entire working life. He loved fishing, hunting, woodworking, and gardening.

Mr. Grieve is survived by his sister Madeleine Grieve of Wheaton, Iowa; brother Douglas (Marianne) Grieve of Tonica; cousin Phyllis Weber; niece and nephews Lewis Donald, Thomas, Jason, Nicole, and Kevin; and great-nieces and -nephews Austin, Cayla, Mikkel, and November.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
