Funeral services for Joe Eickholt, 67, who died Tuesday, December 8, 1959, at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness, were held at 9:30 Thursday morning, December 10, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon with Rev. Clement Flannery officiating. Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery under direction of Walter Funeral Home of Anthon.

Joseph John Eickholt, son of Theodore and Anna Eickholt, was born June 20, 1892, at Anthon. He married Margaret Kuhn on January 17, 1922, at Anthon. After their marriage they farmed in the Moville and Correctionville communities for a number of years, moving to a farm west of Anthon in 1943. They resided in Anthon for a time, later returning to the farm. They moved to Anthon last September where he spent the remainder of his life.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include the widow, a son, Capt. John J. Eickholt of Offutt AFB, Nebraska, four brothers, Frank of Oto, Anton of Sioux City, William and Ted of Anthon, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Kuhn of Oto and Mrs. George Miller of Anthon.

He was preceded by his parents, one brother and one sister.
