Margaret "Maggie" Doarn 1886 - 1928

Mrs. Walter Doarn, 42 years old, of Wayne, Nebraska, died Saturday of cancer of the intestines in a hospital at Norfolk, Nebraska.

Mrs. Doarn was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hoelker, deceased, former well-known residents of this community.

Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Anthon St. Joseph Church with Rev. D.K. Hurley officiating. Burial was made in Mt. St. Joseph Cemetery.

Six nephews, Joe and Tony Meier, Theodore and Willie Eickholt, Joe and John Hoelker, acted as pallbearers.

The funeral was a large one, being attended by many of the relatives and friends of the deceased.

Maggie Hoelker was born on February 21, 1886, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hoelker. She was born and reared in the Anthon community where she made many lasting friends.

Her mother preceded her to the grave twenty years ago and her father passed away a year ago.

Surviving are her husband, Walter Doarn of Wayne, Nebraska; three brothers, Tony Hoelker of Anthon; John Hoelker of Pukawana, South Dakota; Frank Hoelker of Kimball, South Dakota; six sisters, Mrs. Anna Eickholt of Anthon; Mrs. Teresa Meier of Leeds, Iowa; Mrs. Lizzie Hoing, Mrs. Mary Berkemeier, and Mrs. Joe Sullivan of Kimball, South Dakota; and Mrs. Johanna Murphy of Eagle, Wisconsin.
