ANTHON, Iowa -- Thomas J. Coyne, 94, of Manson, Iowa, and formerly of Anthon, died Tuesday, May 24, 1994, at a nursing home in Manson.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon with the Rev. James Tigges officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Larson-Weishaar Funeral Home of Manson is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Coyne was born April 6, 1900, in rural Oto. He attended school at Oto, St. Joseph School in Anthon and at Prairie Du Chien, Wis. He married Emma Dixon in 1932 in Sioux City. He worked as a salesman in the Sioux City and Anthon area and operated Coyne's Drive in at Sioux City, retiring in 1969. The couple moved to Manson in 1979.

Mr. Coyne was a Democratic committeeman for Woodbury County. He served on the Anthon town council and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jay of Moreno Valley, Calif., and Michael of Waterloo; seven daughters, Mary Casillas of Chicago, Jean Naughton of Omaha, Sister Julie Coyne of Springfield, Mo., Kathy Deischel and Sheila Bradley, both of Manson, Nancy Brown of Houston, Texas, and Colleen Wright of Sioux City; 27 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
