"DEATH OF MRS. COYNE:

Mrs. Rose Coyne died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.A. Cole, in Grant township at 4 o'clock Monday afternoon after an illness extending back more than two years.

She was 88 years of age and had been a resident of this county for more than thirty years. The funeral was held this Wednesday forenoon at St. Joseph's church, conducted by Rev. Father Cooke and interment was made in Mt. St. Joseph's cemetery.

Rose Carr was born in County Cavin, Ireland, in 1827 and when 12 years of age came with her parents to New York, later moving to near Montreal, Canada, where she was married to John Coyne.

In 1883 they emigrated to Shelby County, Iowa and a year later came to this county. Soon after their arrival here her husband passed away, since which time she had made her home with her children.

She leaves to mourn eight children. They are Mary Ann and Mrs. Mallory, of Ontario, Canada, Mrs. Maggie Farmer of Anthon, Thos Coyne, south of Oto, Mrs. Jeff Curtin, Mrs. Guy Oregon, Sil Coyne, and Mrs. J.A. Cole, all of this part of the county.

Two children died in infancy and are buried in Canada.

Mrs. Coyne was an excellent mother, wife, and neighbor and left the world better for her having been a part of it."
