Daniel F. Cavanaugh, 41, of rural Hornick died Tuesday, June 22, 1993, at his home after a long illness.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Anthon, with Rev. Gerald Zensen officiating. Burial was in Mount St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Anthon, under direction of Walter-Armstrong Funeral Service in Anthon.

Daniel Francis Cavanaugh, son of Leonard and Ellen (Maudsley) Cavanaugh, was born February 17, 1952, at Ames, Iowa. He graduated from Anthon-Oto High School in 1970, attended Briar Cliff College and Washburn University at Topeka, Kansas.

A lifelong resident of the Anthon-Oto-Climbing Hill area, he presently was a produce farmer.

Survivors include a son, Aaron Cavanaugh of Mapleton, his father of Hornick, his mother of Sioux City, a brother and wife, William and Sue Cavanaugh of Lake City, six sisters, Mary Miller of Portland, Oregon, Mrs. Jere (Julie) Jackson of Rapid City, South Dakota, Mrs. Fred (Colleen) Bortscheller of LeMars, Mrs. Stan (Kerry) Huffman of Moville, Mrs. Peter (Beth) Jansen of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Mrs. Bob (Molly) Wickert of Omaha, and a special friend, Sheryl Pedersen of Hornick.
