5 December 1968Marcus Infant Chokes to Death
Anthony D. Bride, 2-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. David Bride, Marcus, Iowa, who was dead on arrival at a Sioux City hospital Wednesday afternoon, apparently choked to death from an acute asthmatic condition, according to Dr. Thomas L. Coriden, Woodbury County medical examiner.
The child was being brought by car to a Sioux City hospital when he died. A highway patrolman furnished an escort part of the way.
After the child had been examined by two doctors Wednesday, he was sent from Cherokee to the Sioux City hospital but died before arriving here, the medical examiner stated.
The boy was born on Dec. 30, 1965, at LeMars, Iowa.
Survivors include the parents and the grandparents, Mrs. Joseph J. Bride Sr. of Yankton, S.D., and Mr. and Mrs. John Delaney of Volin, S.D.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Holy Name Catholic Church at Marcus. The Rev. Robert O'Reilly will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery at Anthon under the direction of the Nelson Funeral Home of Marcus.
