MRS. EMMA J. JOHNSON

A resident of Sioux City for 54 years, Mrs. Emma J. Johnson, 87, died Tuesday night following an extended illness at the home of a daughter, Mrs. William O. Nelson, 1122 23d street.

Born in Smaland, Sweden, April 25, 1856, she came to the United States in 1880 and located at Des Moines where she lived for nine years before moving to Sioux City in 1889. Her husband died in 1902.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Stanley Srb, Mrs. M. L. Nelson and Mrs. William Nelson; two sons, Melvin A. Johnson and C. Arthur Johnson, all of Sioux City; three sisters, Miss Marie Berg, Pasadena, Cal., Mrs. Ida Liljegren, Los Angeles, Mrs. Helen Berggren, Chicago; a brother, A. B. Berg, Sioux City, and four grandchildren.

The body was taken to the Nelson-Berger funeral home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma J. Johnson, 87, a Sioux City resident for 54 years, who died Tuesday after a long illness, will be held at 1:30 p. m. Friday at the residence and at 2 p. m. at Augustana Lutheran church. Rev. Carl P. Everett will officiate and burial will be in cemetery. The Nelson-Berger funeral home has charge of arrangements.

The body will be taken to the residence of a daughter, Mrs. William O. Nelson, 1122 23d street, late today. It will remain there until time of services.

Pallbearers will be Carl J. Sward, C. W. Rector, Harold Dowling, C. G. Lyren, P. C. Petersen and Andrew Erickson.
