Dorothy Mae (Branstad) Rice passed on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2022, at Sunrise Retirement Center in Sioux City.

Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Faith United Presbyterian Church, 4327 Morningside Ave., Sioux City.

Dorothy was born on Aug. 22, 1930, in Forest City, Iowa, to David and Anna Sophia (Johnson) Branstad and grew up in Thompson, Iowa. She was married in 1954 to Dr. Robert J. Rice who passed in December of 2021.

She is survived by her daughter Sonja (Pat) Floyd of Sioux City; sons John (Kim) Rice of Aurora, Colo., and David (Joan) Rice of Seattle, Wash.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Vern Hansen; sisters-in-law Patty Branstad and Janet Petersen; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to FUPC Church or the Alzheimer Assoc.
