Rustin, Fla., formerly Lee Summit, Mo., and Sioux City

Louanne (Junck) Cownie, 62, of Rustin, and formerly of Lee Summit and Sioux City passed away on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022, at a Hospice House.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Sioux City.

Louanne was born on Jan. 9, 1960, in Sioux City, daughter of Roland and Carol (Ives) Junck. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at Redeemer. She was a 1978 graduate of East High, where she was very active as one of the captains of the Raiderettes and also was a gymnast. She enjoyed decorating, cooking, refinishing furniture, and spending time with her grandchildren. She ran a pre-school in Lee Summit, and she absolutely loved children.

She is survived by her mother Carol Junck of Sioux City; three daughters Amanda (Justin) Smothers, Ashley (Jordan) Lawrence, and Abi Black; eight grandchildren; sister Cathy Bradham of Chanhassen, Minn.; and significant other Bill Wilder.

She was preceded in death by her father, Roland Junck.

Memorials may be directed to St. Croix Hospice of Sioux City or Redeemer Lutheran Church.
