Esther F. Scholler, 97, of Sioux City and formerly of St. Paul passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2022, at a local care center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Sioux City. Visitation will be one hour prior at the church. Visitation will continue on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, at Willwerscheid Funeral Home in St. Paul from 9 to 10 a.m. with a vigil service at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in St. Paul. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Esther was born March 5, 1925, in McIntosh, S.D., the daughter of Joseph and Mary George. She graduated from McIntosh High School. Esther married George G. Scholler on Oct. 1, 1955, in St. Paul. To this union two children, Jeffrey and Nancy, were born. George preceded Esther in death on Dec. 14, 2002 in St. Paul.
While raising her children, Esther worked in the family printing business, AAbel Printing in St. Paul. She enjoyed painting, cooking, and socializing with her friends and family whether on the phone or over a good card game. Esther moved to Sioux City in 2008 to be closer to family. She was a member of the Red Hats Society, an active member of the Ladies Guild at St. Mark's Catholic Church in St. Paul, and a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Sioux City.
She is survived by her son Jeffrey Scholler of Sioux City; daughter Nancy Scholler of Minneapolis, Minn.; former daughter-in-law Renee Scholler of Sioux City; two granddaughters Katie and Kandi Scholler of Sioux City; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Mary; husband George; and brothers and sisters.
