Charles was born November 10, 1975, in Sioux City, Iowa the son of Cindy Westfall. He attended Hawthorne Elementary, Woodrow Wilson Jr. High and graduated from North High in 1994. On April 5, 2002, Charles was united in marriage to Kendra L. VonderLieth. They made their home in Sioux City, Iowa where they raised two children, stepdaughter, Brooke (Bomgaars) Fordyce and son, Tyler Westfall. Charles was currently employed at his favorite job with Mass Markets as Director, Executive of Analytics.

Charles most special moments were the times he spent with his children and grandson. He loved watching them participate in their activities including Tyler’s bowling, t-ball and football and Brooke’s bowling, softball, and dance. He and Tyler were die-hard Kansas City Chief’s fans who loved to root against Kendra’s Las Vegas Raiders. He also loved being outdoors and studying the planets and the stars through a huge telescope purchased for Tyler.

After being diagnosed with end stage renal disease Charles made a bucket list of things he wanted to do before he died. Number 1 on that list was to take Tyler to all 50 states. The most memorable moments of his life were spent going on road trips all over the country. Although they didn’t quite make it to every state, they made awesome memories for Tyler to cherish forever. Charles recently became a grandpa to Brooke and Drew’s cute little son, Myles; he made several trips to spend time with them in Sioux Falls.

Charles is survived by his wife, Kendra; his stepdaughter Brooke (Drew) Fordyce of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; his son Tyler Westfall of Sioux City; his grandson, Myles Fordyce of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; his mother Cindy Thompson of Sioux City; his aunts Linda Powers and Rae Jensen both of Sioux City; his sisters Jennifer Williams and her children Elizabeth, Haley and Trevor of Maryville, Tennessee; Michelle (Travis) Cipperly and their daughter Tara of Sioux City; cousins Amy Powers and partner Josh Smith and their children Ethan and Arianna; and Melissa Gigaroa and her children Gabby and Tristen; and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Chris Jones and his grandparents Charles and Betty Westfall.
