Janine D. Wiggs, 69, of Sioux City passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at home with her husband and children at her side. Services will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Burial will be at Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00pm until the service time at the funeral home.

Janine was born on November 2, 1952, to Elton and Charlotte (Hyde) Ruring in Sioux City. She attended East High School in Sioux City until her senior year when her family moved to the Lawton area. Following high school, she continued her education at Iowa Lakes Community College and Wayne State University. She met the love of her life, Craig Wiggs, and the two were married in Sloan, IA on October 12, 1976. Craig and Janine lived together in Sioux City for most of their marriage and briefly lived in Sioux Falls, SD where they could be closer to their grandchildren. Janine held various jobs outside of the home over the years, the most rewarding of which was working as a caretaker for children with special needs at Courage Homes.

In her spare time, Janine loved playing dice and card games with family, gardening, fishing, and birdwatching. She was known for her sense of humor, her love of butterflies, and more recently, her affinity towards the Heartland Netflix series.

She is survived by her husband, Craig Wiggs; three sons: Maximillian (Sherry) Wiggs, Charles (Kelsey Karr) Wiggs, and Allen (Thai Patton) Wiggs; two daughters: Carmen (Dustin) Peterson and Kelli Wiggs; two sisters: Deborah Terry and Teri (Mark) Bierman; and six grandchildren: Asher, Walter, Jack, Marin, Camrin, and Nora.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
