15 October 1943Elmo C. Tompkins, 67, 3021 Irene Street, a contractor and brick mason, died Thursday afternoon at a hospital after a short illness.
He was born December 25, 1875, in eastern Iowa. He came to Sioux City 27 years ago from Marshalltown, la.
Survivors are the widow, Vina; two sons, Lloyd and Jasper; a daughter, Betty; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren all of Sioux City.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Westcott funeral. Rev. Loren E. Lair will officiate, and interment will be in Logan Park Cemetery.
