Matilda Patchen was born in New York on May 31, 1836, and died December 3, 1914, aged 78 years, 6 months and 3 days.

She was married to A.B. Anderson in 1855. To them fourteen children were born, of whom eight survive: Mrs. Minnie Redel of Minneapolis, John Benjamin, Aaron, Robert, Walter, all of Leeds, Milton and Mrs. Lillie Howe of Anthon, Mrs. Elmer Dixon, who preceded her in death three years ago.

In 1871 she united with the Advent Christian Church and has always lived a Christian life.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 5, and were in charge of Rev. John A. Campbell.

Interment was made in Bethel Cemetery
