Mae Louise (Gunderson) Ballantyne, 85, of Little Rock and formerly of Sioux City went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, due to complications in a heart procedure.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Bible Church of Little Rock in Arkansas.

Mae was born in Sioux City on Dec. 8, 1936, to John and Mildred Gunderson. Mae had a brother John Gunderson and a sister, Mareen (Gunderson) Erwin. Mae graduated from Central High School in 1954. She married Richard Ballantyne in 1955 and had three daughters, Lisa (Ballantyne) Jensen, Beth (Ballantyne) Quinn, and Amy (Ballantyne) Walsh.

Mae loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was always involved in her local church wherever she was living.

Mae worked at Northwestern Bell for many years and retired from AT&T in 1999. She also lived in Des Moines, Iowa; Minneapolis, Minn.; and Little Rock, where she lived after retirement for the remainder of her life on earth.

Mae is survived by her sister, Mareen Erwin; daughters, Lisa Jensen and Amy Walsh; her sons-in-law, Doug Jensen, Lance Quinn, and Michael Walsh; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

Mae is preceded in death by her daughter, Beth Quinn; and great-grandson, Calvin Quinn.
