DR. E. W. BOOKHART

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. today at the Lawton Community church for Dr. E. W. Bookhart, 56, of Wall Lake, who died there Tuesday.

Dr. Bookhart, a former resident of Sioux City, was born August 15, 1880 near what is now Lawton and attended a country school there. Later he attended Morningside college, the Sioux City School of Medicine and the University of Nebraska.

Opening medical practice at Ulmer, la., he then moved to Breda, la., and later enlisted as a medical officer in the United States army during the world war. He was discharged from the army with a rank of major and re-entered practice at Ida Grove. Later he moved to Wall Lake.

Survivors include the widow, his mother, Mrs. Rebecca Bookhart of Lawton; three daughters, Mrs. Isla Kittleson of near Iowa Falls, Mrs. Velma Botti of Mason City and Miss Eunice Bookhart of Lawton; five sisters, Mrs. Laura Powers of Sebastobol, Cal., Mrs. Margaret Mortinson, Mrs. Irene Elder and Mrs. Amy O'Brien, all of Lawton, and Mrs. Phoebe Fatz of Sioux City, and three brothers, George G. of Verndale, Minn., F. M. and Harry of Sioux City.

The American Legion of Lawton will have charge of services at the graveside.
