LAWTON, Iowa - Esther C. Arndt, 78, of Lawton died Wednesday in a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Bethel Lutheran Church in Lawton. The Rev. Mark J. Buchbop will officiate. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today In the McCulloch-Wavrin Funeral Home at Moville.

Mrs. Arndt, the former Esther C. Krause, was born July 6, 1905, in Lincoln Township, Plymouth County. She married Albert Arndt June 6, 1924, at Hinton. They farmed in the Hinton-Lawton area from 1924 until 1972 when they sold the farm and moved into Lawton.

She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church since its beginning in 1934.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Gladys Jelkins of Homeland, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Bernard (Mary Ann) Zenor of Lawton and Mrs. William (Loretta) Schuldt of Minnesota; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
