Vilas D. Wells, 76, died at his home at Pierson Friday after suffering a heart attack.

Mr. Wells was born October 2, 1885, on a farm in Tilden township, Cherokee County. He married Vaughn McKenzie July 3, 1924, at Pierson. He was a former Cherokee County farmer and later owned and operated a produce station in Pierson.

Survivors include the widow and a brother, Ben Wells of Sioux City.

Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Monday at the Christian church at Pierson. Rev. Phillip Kinton will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery at Pierson under direction of the Dickison funeral home of Kingsley, Ia.
